This past Sunday we turned to the second half of Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In the first half, Paul goes in-depth regarding God’s plan for God’s people through history. In the second half of Ephesians, Paul gets into the nitty-gritty of what new life in Christ looks like for God’s people.
Read Ephesians 4:1-16
1. What does Paul mean when he uses terms like “children” and “grow up” and “mature”? What is he pointing to as a reality and calling for Christians?
2. As you have followed Christ, where are some areas that you have seen God helping grow you toward maturity? In what ways did you see God using other Christians in His work?
3. What is the role of “speaking the truth in love” within the community that is the church? Where and how is it hard for you to speak (or hear!) the truth in love?
4. Read verses 15-16 again. What Christ-centered vision does this give for life in Seven Mile Road Church? How can we pray and work toward that end?
