This week we continued our series on liturgy and we specifically considered worship. Since way back in the Old Testament, God’s people have been marked by a practice of singing in order to glorify and enjoy God and to drive God’s truth deeper into our hearts and minds.

Read Ephesians 5:18-21 with your group

1. How did Sunday’s sermon envision you for worship through songs, hymns, spiritual songs, etc. in your own individual life and as part of the body of Christ?

2. Where do you see the Trinity in the Ephesians passage? Why do you think Paul calls highlights all three members of the Trinity as it relates to singing and making melodies?

3. How can the practice of “making melody to the Lord with your heart” counteract and replace some of the other things that might be coming out of our mouths during the week?
